Coming off the Western Conference Finals, the Blackhawks look to make their 83rd season in the NHL a championship one. In order to help facilitate that feat, the franchise went out and inked forward Marian Hossa to the biggest deal in franchise history. Though the league and the players association are set to investigate the 12 year deal, expect Hossa to be member of the Blackhawk family by the time the puck hits the ice.

In the draft, the Blackhawks picked up defenseman Dylan Olsen of the AJHL Camrose Kodiaks, Brandon Pirri of the Georgetown Raiders (OJHL), Daniel Delisle of Totino-Grace High School (USA), Byron Froese of the Everett Silvertips (WHL), Marcus Kruger of Djurgardens IF Elitserien (SEL), David Pacan of the Cumberland Grands (CJAHL), Paul Phillips of the Cedar Rapids Roughriders (USHL) and David Gilbert of the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL).
