The Chicago Blackhawks, one of the "Original Six" NHL teams, were founded in 1926 and the team played out of Chicago Stadium. The franchise won their first Stanley Cup in 1933. They have retired eight jerseys/numbers.
Named after the Blackhawk Division of the 86th infantry Division of World War I by the franchise’s first owner Frederic McLaughlin, the Blackhawks moved into the United Center in the 1993-94 season and play there still.
The franchise has won three Stanley Cup Finals (1933/34, 1937/38, 1960/61), one Conference finals (1991/92) and thirteen Division Championships.
